Susan is the Vice President of Communications and Social Responsibility at BCLC, a Crown Corporation that oversees all gambling in BC.
Prior to her time at BCLC, Susan served as part of the executive team as Director of Client Relations and Communications at the BC Ambulance Service (BCAS), where she established the organization’s media, government relations and communications programs, helping to raise the profile of paramedics and educating the public about the important work paramedics do in communities. Susan has led the crisis communications and issues management response in a number of high profile events in British Columbia including the Sullivan Mine tragedy while at BCAS.
Susan is proud to be from the north, where she obtained her education and started her career as the lead for the community relations strategy for Canadian Forest Products Ltd. and later helped to launch and manage communications at Forestry Innovation Investment. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Northern B.C. and has also worked in radio and TV. She has supported the United Way throughout her career in both Northern BC and as the Executive Sponsor of BCLC’s United Way Campaign.
